Dear Wayne,
I was only four years old the first time we rode into the High Sierras, on the front of my dad's saddle. But I remember it like it was yesterday.
There’s nothing like nature. You get out there and the moment you experience it, and take a deep breath down to your toes, it sorts out all of your priorities.
That’s why I care so much about protecting the wild.

No Slime or Meat Glue
Hi Wayne,
There is at least two farmers went to jail for providing raw milk and cheese.
Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture has decided to give schools the option as to whether they will continue to use pink slime in school lunches but not until next Fall.
Pink slime is 'meat' - and I use the term 'meat' loosely - that has been bathed in ammonia. Here is a photo of pink slime.

Dear Wayne,
Twenty-three years ago today, the Exxon Valdez spilled more than 11 million gallons of crude oil off the coast of Alaska. The results were devastating to both wildlife and humans. The tragedy was a wake-up call about failed industry promises and the dangers of oil development to many Americans who saw the heartbreaking, graphic images of oil-covered birds, otters, and fish.

Is Senator Kirk MIA?
This information was sent to Kirk’s Office on April 5, 2012. As of May 26, 2012 he has not replied, however, he did miss other key votes.
I have noted that you are not voting on several issues. For example, the Postal Service legislation as well as the Repeal of Big Oil Tax Subsidies Act. Also, you did not vote on the oil companies wanting to destroy Wilderness.
I think that as a representative of the people from the State of Illinois, regardless of whether we see "eye to eye" on different issues, you have an obligation to be in Washington DC and cast your vote.
Is Kirk MIA?
Update: From other sources we discovered he had a heart attack. There is no indication as to how long the recovery shall take.
Of course we are sorry to hear about such trauma but if Kirk is going to be recuperating for an extended period of time then he should step down and let someone else represent the people of Illinois. Right now we have only one senator to vote on several key issues.
